TCS believes in cultivating a servant’s heart and provides our students and staff many opportunities to serve through one of our many ministries in our city and beyond.
TCS CHURCH SERVICES
TCS students have the opportunity to participate and lead church services. Many of the students don’t have a church home, but will attend the TCS organized services, which we hold in different churches throughout the city. It is a wonderful opportunity to minister to both the students and their parents who come to see their child perform, but leave having heard the Good News of Jesus ChristTCS HANDICAPPED ADULTS AND CHILDREN’s MINISTRY
In 1999 TCS was the first truly handicapped accessible building in our city and so we started a ministry – to bring handicap adults and children to our school to give them a nice meal and concert. Since communism taught that handicap people were second class citizens, many of these people had been hidden from society for years. We have continued this ministry and our students have the opportunity to serve and minister to their physical needs, while reaching their hearts with a kind word and a warm smile.CRISIS CENTER FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN
Several times a year, students and teachers prepare a program and visit the Center to have fellowship with the women and children staying there.SPECIAL NEEDS BOARDING SCHOOL MINISTRY
Twice a year, students make the trip out to the boarding school to share the Good News and spend time in fellowship with the special needs children. TCS teaches the students to love on others and see everyone completely equal in God’s eyes -

TCS OPERATIONAL BUDGET
Estimated Operating costs for 2024/2025 school year are $750,000. Most of the operating costs are comprise of salaries, which are heavily subsidized by the Government. 10% or $75,000 of the Budget is needed to be raised from donations to Talsi Christian School Foundation.
TUITION
TCS charges a EUR 40 tuition ($45) to help cover some of the costs. However because TCS is situated in a rural part of Latvia, this amount of money is a sacrifice for all parents. The average salary in Talsi region is about EUR 750 ($870) although cost of living in Latvia is only about 37% lower than the United States. For parents the tuition is a sacrifice and a form of financial discipline to send their child to TCS.
